The Story Behind Nicaragua's Eco Coffee
The Madriz region may be small, but it is the heart of Nicaragua's coffee production, offering optimal conditions for coffee cultivation. The high altitude, combined with the region's mountain ranges and key rivers such as Tapacalí, Inalí, Yarí, Estelí, and Segovía, provides essential water sources that nurture the coffee plants.

Founded in 2001 in San Juan del Río Coco, the Procafe cooperative plays a pivotal role in promoting sustainable practices. With 70 female and 124 male owner-farmers, the cooperative empowers small farmers to achieve fair prices in international markets.
